My Story
Some people meditate… I bake. For me, the sound of a whisk hitting the side of a bowl or the smell of cinnamon in the air is instant calm. I started baking as a teen — partly because I loved cookies, but mostly because I could sneak extra dough without anyone noticing.
Since then, I’ve baked just about everything — pies, cakes, pastries, you name it. I learned pretty quickly that you don’t need a fancy culinary degree to make something amazing. You just need a good recipe, a little patience, and maybe a dusting of powdered sugar to hide the cracks.

The Turning Point
Years ago, I made a lemon meringue pie for a dinner party… and it was a disaster. The meringue collapsed, the crust was basically a brick, and I wanted to cry. But my friends? They grabbed spoons and dug right in like it was the best thing ever.
That’s when it hit me — dessert doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to taste good and be shared with people you love.
What I Learned the Hard Way
There was a time I was obsessed with picture-perfect pastries — flawless macarons, perfectly piped cupcakes, not a crumb out of place. And honestly? It sucked the joy out of baking.
Now I’m all about the rustic look. If the glaze drips a little or the crust is a bit wonky, it just means it’s homemade. And guess what? People love that.
My Approach Now
I go for easy-but-impressive desserts — the kind that make people say “Wow, you made this?!” without knowing it only took you 30 minutes. Seasonal fruit, classic flavors, and a few fun twists keep things interesting
What I Believe
- Baking is love… and sometimes bribery.
- Messy kitchens mean you had fun.
- Rustic desserts have way more personality.
- Tuesdays deserve cake too.
- Whipped cream should never be optional.

A Little More About Me
When I’m not baking, I’m usually hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, strolling through farmers’ markets, or hunting down the best coffee and pastry spots in Asheville. I have a thing for vintage cake stands and handwritten recipe cards — they just make desserts feel extra special.
